During September and October, students in PALS organized a variety of events to help DLBHS learn more about the disease of ALS and the purpose of the Ice Bucket Challenge. Thursday, October 23, students and staff participated in an Ice Bucket Challenge. To date, we have raised nearly $200, which will be donated to the ALS Association in memory of Linda Schwandt. We greatly appreciated the participation and efforts of all students and staff. Thank you! See video
.Flag Event Ceremony
On September 9, 2014, Burlington-Des Las Elementary united in the gymnasium to celebrate our Nation's 200th Anniversary of the "Star-Spangled Banner." All grades assembled in the bleachers and created a "living" flag. Six-hundred and fifty feet of red, white, and blue plastic, surmounted to a wave of America's stars and stripes. The Junior High band performed the National Anthem, Des Lacs-Burlington High Choir performed "God Bless America," and the Minot Air Force Base Honor Guard presented the colors of the flag and delighted the student-body with a flag folding demonstration.
